Biodiesel is primarily produced from animal and plant products. The main raw materials for biodiesel production are plant oils and animal fats. These raw materials contain triglycerides that can be chemically modified through transesterification to be transformed into biodiesel. Here are some of the main raw materials used in biodiesel production:

Animal fats

Animal fats and fatty acids derived from animal products, such as fats from meat, fish oil, or waste fats from the food industry, can also be used for biodiesel production.

Plant oils

Various plants, such as rapeseed, soybean, sunflower, palm oil, and others, produce plant oils that can be used for biodiesel production. Plant oils are typically cheaper than animal fats and are often a more common source for biodiesel production.

Recycled food oils

Waste food oils from restaurants and other food establishments can be recycled and utilized for biodiesel production.

By-Animal Product

The by-animal product is a term used to refer to the bodies of animals or their parts or products of animal origin that are not intended for human consumption, including eggs, embryos, and sperm. The handling of by-animal products is regulated by regulations, especially European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) No. [1]. The use of animal products in biogas production is regulated by European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) No. 1774/2002.

Classification

Category 1 – the most hazardous materials that can only be incinerated or buried at designated sites. Exceptions are defined by other regulations.

Category 2 – the material can be used for the production of organic fertilizers or for fertilization after meeting the relevant conditions. Materials can also be used for ensiling or conversion into biogas.

Category 3 – the material can be used for the production of feed under certain conditions. These materials and the feeds produced from them must not be fed to animals of the same species.

Our Products

Fame

Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME)

FAME is a biofuel made from plant oils and animal fats. It may contain additives to improve performance, such as depressants, detergents, lubricity additives, and corrosion inhibitors. It is primarily used as a motor fuel for diesel engines and cogeneration units and as a fuel for heat production.
